Love, Letting Go of Negative Emotions

Emotions are conscious mental reactions (such as anger or fear) subjectively experienced as strong feelings usually directed toward a specific object and typically accompanied by physiological and behavioral changes in the body.” Adapted from Merriam-Webster 2024 Why is it so important to acknowledge our emotions as visitors & let them go? By working through these emotions and feelings, we are able to recognize, and process them ( let them pass through our system) then let them go. If we ignore or deny our emotions that doesn’t mean that they will simply “go away”. For some of us this can possibly work for a short period of time, especially if we push them so far back into our minds ( the closet of our bodies). Pushing our emotions away can only work for so long, because once that feeling is awakened and activated, it can come back out in full force. Over time, negative emotions that are stuck with us can cause internal illnesses or depression. In order to move th...

Love / Hiking at Griffith Park

Driving into Griffith Park, I suddenly remembered the years ( over twenty) that I have been an avid hiker, and the amazing physical, mental, and social benefits of this low-impact form of "exercise”. I chose an easy basic trail, and parked near "The Merry-Go-Round". After the initial muscle stretching uphill pace, the trail settled into a slow and steady path that curved and climbed with amazing scenery throughout. One ofmany beautiful things about this park is that there are over 4,300 acres to explore. Taking a hike there can be slow and steady, or it can be a cardio blast at a fast uphill pace. It’s your choice. As I reached "Five-Points", a flat resting area where the trails go in five different directions. I headed for my right and choose a trail headed for the "Helicopter landing Pad". A rush of good feelings hit me, and I kept heading up, up, avoiding large rocks, and keeping my eyes open for snakes and lizards. Once ...

Love / Prosperity

What is Prosperity? The definition from “Oxford Languages” tell us that Prosperity is “The State of being Prosperous”, and one of the true meanings of Prosperity can mean: “The condition of being successful or thriving” For myself, Prosperity is about having happiness & health, along with wealth, as these 3 conditions support each other beautifully. No matter what’s going on in our lives, we can have that, and many of us already do without realizing it. We are born pure, a clean slate that becomes imprinted from the moment we take our first breath. We become disconnected, and our “clean slate” can and often does get imprinted with negative beliefs and thoughts that can keep us from our true source. The capacity of prosperity, deep joy, and health is within us, but how can we take hold of it and keep it on a day-to-day basis? 1). Awareness: This means taking a real & true look at one’s-self, life, and conditions. Writing it all down can really show us what we are dea...

Create / My Values as a Prosperity & Business Coach

Values : Individual beliefs that motivate people to act one way or another. Values are important as they are a roadmap towards the direction we take when moving forward in our life, giving us direction & purpose. Values point the way back to our true selves, and clarify and provide reasoning for our behaviors. When we stick to our values, we are staying true to our beliefs, and this plants seeds towards our self worth every time. Honesty - within myself, doing my best everyday to look at the situations in my life with an honest eye. The more I practice honesty in my life, I trust myself and my decisions more. When we work together in a coaching partnership, you will value your own honesty as you get clearer & closer to your goals. When you can honestly evaluate your present situation, you can make the changes you need that will move you forward successfully. Accountability - Being accountable to myself and others has strengthened & straightened the course of ...

Create / Feeding your Creativity

Creativity - The use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work. Feeding our creativity is like eating a healthy diet with the right combinations of tools and techniques. Getting grounded, spending quality alone time, healthy treats, and music are all good things to feed our spirit & soul with, which can promote our creativity. 1) Getting grounded- Breathe, get connected with nature. Prioritize your physical wellness by getting good rest, eating right, & exercising. Good rest & sleep restores our physical bodies, and that can feel good. Eating a healthy well balanced diet feeds our cells & body parts with what they need, good food is like good gas in our tank. Exercise raises our serotonin levels, and flushes out stale energy from our bodies. This helps us to feel better and stay grounded & more connected with our physical bodies. 2) Spend some alone time & schedule an “Artist Date” with yourself. Accordi...

Love / Surrender and Acceptance

When life doesn’t seem to be working out in the way that I think it should, I need to accept the reality, find peace within myself, and surrender the need to control. Accepting life’s reality means accepting change and realize that it is a fundamental part of life and will happen. Holding on to situations lightly can ease the emotional loads I carry, and also reduce attachment and suffering. This means I still care, yet I’m able to detach from attaching. Practicing acceptance has brought me peace of mind, and it can really help me to surrender. Finding peace within myself means accepting everything that’s happening around me and not take it personally. It involves learning to trust the process of what is happening, and let go of the outcomes. Many times the most challenging experiences of my life have led to my greatest growth. The need to control is powerful for me, and I developed this negative trait as a survival technique growing up in a household with alcoholism ...

Forgive / Forgiveness, Healing & Freedom

One of the most loving things we can do for others & ourselves in this lifetime is to practice forgiveness. The term “practice forgiveness”, is to do it in the best way we know how. We may not do it “perfectly” hence the word practice. Yet to try brings value to not just the other person, but to ourselves, for it is a scrubbing of our spirit that washes us clean of negative emotions. When we feel injured or find fault with another persons actions or decisions, judgements can form, and resentments can grow. These can cloud our vision and quite literally take up space in both our minds and our bodies. The injury we feel can cause anger, and the negative emotions can make our jaw clench & tighten, and our blood boil. These negative emotions can move into the body, much like a person moves into a house, and not leave. They act up, behaving like the very worst tenants ever, wrecking havoc in the home that is our body. This can result in “dis-ease” of the body and soul, a...

Create / Recovering My Creativity

Growing up with an addicted & mentally ill parent caused me to hide many needs & desires, and “people-please” in order to feel accepted as survival mechanism. As an adult, hiding those needs and desires caused me to feel blocked, and unsure about myself in many social situations. The things that I saw & experienced shaped my future behaviors, I was always putting the needs & desires of others before my own , and not putting my dreams & goals first. " " In the past six months, during coaching sessions with my peers, the same blocks/issues came up over & again. They consisted of not giving myself permission to create, and shine as my Higher Power wants me to. Another major block came in the form of wanting to try/do new things, then losing interest the moment I pursued the desire. " " Recently wondering why I seem to not be able to break through a “creative block”, a memory has resurfaced. In my childhood home, behind the garage, t...
